Best place to live off campus?
by: transfer studentI’m transferring to sdsu this fall and was wondering the best areas to look for an apartment. Is it more common to live closer to campus or like downtown or by pacific beach etc? I’m from san francisco so I’m really unfamiliar with the area

Depends on your age and goals. If you’re under 21 I’d say live near campus for sure. PB bars are notoriously hard on fakes and if you live in PB you’ll likely be wanting to go near campus often for house parties and stuff especially if you pledge. If you’re over 21 it depends. Many students chose to live in PB for their senior year, maybe junior. But you will be removed from campus so while partying on weekends at the bars is much easier, if your goal is Greek life or club involvement it can make more sense to live near campus.
Overall if your goal is Greek life or heavy club involvement I’d say live on campus and yea you might spend a bit on Ubers to PB some weekend nights (if you’re over 21). But that’s much easier to get to class and be involved in clubs etc.
Definitely do not live downtown. Almost no students live there, it’s expensive and dirty.
