Fall ‘21 changes and expansion
by: Monty
So IFC carousel continues, IFC is expanding by 2 with SigEp and Beta recolonizing new chapters this fall. Both are already active on Insta (sdsusigep and beta_sdsu) and listed as colonies by their nationals. Sigma Nu is expected to recolonize Fall ‘22.
K-Sig is finished and not recognized by the university or their own nationals, the latter will likely put out a cease & desist order soon. Unclear what’s happening with the mansion or who even owns it at this point.
AEPi is now at the former FIJI house as TKE waits to recharter and return to their house.
D-Chi is at SigEp’s house until SigEp recharters.
The Student Veterans Org appears to no longer have the house on fraternity row, which now has two empty houses.
Missing anything?

Judicial reports indicate that the university only suspended Kappa Sigma and that their suspension expires a year from now. Which means they would technically be eligible to come back and any active members from when they were suspended who are still attending SDSU would technically be eligible to rejoin. But given everything that happened I think their nationals might prefer to just wait until everyone has graduated and start from scratch.
I heard a year ago that some fraternity (I think it was Theta Chi) has already been approved to recolonize Fall 2023.
Spring 2025 is the absolute earliest Phi Kap would be eligible to come back.
Fall 2030 is the absolute earliest FIJI would be eligible to come back.

What's the deal with Kappa Sigma? We have literal documentation that the school and their own nationals both don't recognize them and that the initiated members won't be allowed to rejoin when they do come back to SDSU even if they are still attending. Yet I still see their letters and "Kappa Sigma Fraternity" on the mansion. Are they going rogue or something?

I agree but there hasn’t been much interest. These are all fraternities which got shut down in the past and have been working for years to come back.
