minorities in greek life

hi hun as a woc in a sorority all i have to say is come with an open mind and remember your worth! i haven't been discriminated or mistreated against during the recruitment process and i think the sororities now are doing a much better job at influencing diversity in sororities this year, don't let it discourage you! <3

Honestly as another WOC in Greeklife if you are going Panhellenic you are basically kinda disqualified from the top houses with few exceptions. But a lot of Greeklife is positive so it just depends where you land.

You will be fine. Trust the system and you will end up in right house IF you get a bid. Be open minded and understand that looks and personality are highly emphasized during recruitment. I can honestly say that I haven’t seen anything malicious but unfortunately as a WOC, we have gotten used to and will continue to be passively treated differently by our peers in general - not just during Greek life. You’ll come across some not so great people. But who cares? If they suck they suck...and not worth your time. You’ll stand out as a beautiful WOC and will take advantage of everything positive that Greek life at SDSU has to offer. Diversity is a mystical unicorn if WOC are not rushing. We want you to rush !!! Your sisters will be ready to welcome you with open arms with goodies.
