joing a panhellic sorority when i am black?

I am going to be rushing in the fall and I would prefer to join a general sorority instead of a historically black sorority. Will I be looked at funny if I rush the general sororities? Are there other minorities that rush general sororities?

Of course not! You can rush any sorority you like. If you are looking for the experience of a general sorority then you should participate in rush. Although the sororities are primarily white, every culture is represented!

I want to join a black sorority but there aren't any active chapters on campus. There used to be 4 back in 2005. What happened?

I have been working with the Greeks on campus since 2004....Yes, there are plenty of minorities in Panhellenic sororities at SDSU!
