greek life

Hey all,
I’m a transfer student coming in from nor cal and I’m really worried about finding friends as a junior. I’m considering rushing a sorority but is it’ worth it? Do upperclassmen even party anymore and do they drop out the older they get? Like I’m not trying to be a party school but a few would be nice. Anyway, do you think Greek life is necessary for a social life? While I really want to join, it’s very expensive and I have to think this trough. Are non Greek students able to find their groups as easily?

I rushed as a junior and there are definitely quite a few girls who do! When you rush, you’re put in groups and you’ll be paired with other juniors who are rushing, so it’s definitely comforting knowing you’re not the only one and it’s great meeting girls in your rush group. If you decide to rush it’s definitely not a commitment, I recommend rushing and trying it out rather than regretting it later! Also through out the process there are girls in finance positions there in the sorority to make sure everything is ok financially and if you decide it’s not worth it you can drop out if you really want to. I 100% recommend spending the money if you can afford it, it seems like a lot now but definitely worth the experiences, personal growth, and friendships in the long run. I loved being in a sorority, it’s honestly really hard to keep friends from just your classes and yes I did party a bit and when I turned 21 I started going out to bars with other girls in the sorority as well :) hopefully that was helpful!
