by: No bid?How likely is it to go through the entire formal recruitment process and still not get a bid at the end? I'm a transfer and all the sororities look awesome. I especially like gamma (beta? Sorry, it's the two worded gamma), kappa alpha theta and alpha gamma delta. How selective are these girls? I honestly will get every single sorority a chance though, not gonna suicide in order to get those specific sororities

Most of those girls drop because of money or getting cut from their top 3. I haven't heard of anyone who saw the process through to the end end didn't get a single bid.

I know more girls who attempted it than who went all the way through. I know it's super disappointing when u get cut from ur fave house so lots of ppl drop. I'm specifically asking about girls who go through the entire process and don't suicide any house or act rude in any way.
There's spring rush right? Is that to fill spots that weren't taken during formal recruitment? If they're able to have spring rush then it's not super duper selective right?

Sororities have a certain quota of bids they are supposed to give out. Being a sophomore increases your chances of getting a bid from a house due to this. I'd say as long as you don't look like lil tay you should get a bid from a house. I know a bunch of chicks that got into top houses that shouldn't have because of there sophomore class status.

But don’t they usually want the freshman cause they will be there all 4 years? I’m rushing as a junior too. I’m just nervous I’ll get overlooked because of my junior status

Same here, I heard that's an issue at some schools but at others they have a quota. To add on to your question, is there really a quota for upperclassmen at sdsu? If so how much is it generally?

I know for a fact that sdsu does have a quota, based on girls I've talked to in sororities, at least for the freshman and sophomore. Each of the 9 sororities probably have different quotas tho. I've seen lots of girls get their top choice going through rush again as a sophomore but idk know if the same applies to juniors. Like do they have a junior quota? I'm not sure

Honestly they seem like they have such a fun sisterhood so I'm totally down if we vibe together! Just excited to go through rush and meet everyone

Thanks for responding! I know I probably won't get my top house and I would be pretty happy to join any of the sororities. I know that wherever I am picked will have been for a reason. Was just nervous about getting that call from my rho gamma saying I won't get a big.
