cob/spring rush

by: clueless

soo i dropped out of recruitment after pref and the one house i had on pref (but didn't want to commit to because i was unsure) has reached out to me since. should i just go for it and do cob with them or wait for spring recruitment to see about other options?
(also don't really know how cob works should i be reaching out to chapters or is it all up to the chapters and they reach out to who they want?)

Did you like the girls? How did you feel about them on pref night? If you didn't feel like you would feel at home there, don't do it and wait. If you felt like you meshed with the group and were thinking about "better" options, then you dropped for the wrong reasons. This is a chance to find a sisterhood to be a part of. Many girls dropped because they didn't find a place to call home so if you found yours, go for it!

they're all really sweet. i didn't have the best pref night or anything over rush that made me think,"this is the house for me." i know a lot of the girls (im a junior) and really would like to be a part of a sisterhood, but i'm hesitant because like i said i can't tell if it's my "home" or if it has the potential to be.

Based on why you've said, you may want to wait but know that there is no way to know who will participate in Spring COB

Honestly, I don't think Greeklife is for you. If all the other sororities dropped you, they don't want you. I know that is hard to hear but they didn't want you. The one sorority that really wanted you, well, you thought they weren't good enough for you. So clearly there is a disconnect with reality. You will not be happy in a lower tier house, because you are delusional and believe that you belong in an upper tier house. You will be miserable. Just let the sorority thing go. Not everyone has to be in a sorority. I don't want that one sorority that wanted you to be stuck with someone who doesn't want to be there. Seriously, just let it all go. There are other ways to enjoy college.

Why does it matter? Important thing is for her to find a group of girls she can bond with and call her sisters.

The important thing is that she realize that she isn't upper tier like she thought she was. She has made it clear she doesn't want that sorority, and the other sororities don't want her, so bye Felicia.

Spring recruitment is way less options, and even if the house that you want participates, they accept way less girls because of quota, making it harder to go in. If they're reaching out to you now I'd take the bait and at least see if you vibe with them while it's easier to get in

But she thinks she is too good for them. even though the other sororities didn't want her.

If you are a junior and you are still trying to get into an upper tier sorority even though they have dropped you, then you need to move on with your life. It isn't going to happen. Just find other clubs and organizations to enjoy. If you can't accept that you belong in a lower tier sorority, then you need to not be in a sorority.

Sounds like you should wait. Wait until you find a place that you feel at home. If you are unsure at all, rush in the Spring, or next Fall. This will give you time to know a lot more about each house too.

Just relax, see who does Spring recruitment. If you're not interested in the sororities that are doing Soring recruitment, wait until Fall. You'll be be fine, and you'll know so much more about each house by waiting.

If you only had one house left, you aren't get into the others during spring. Sorry. You should have grabbed that one while you could.
