What it really comes down to is agreements made in years past with fraternities upon them getting kicked off campus that determined when those chapters could return. That plus the interest of local alumni groups & national organizations. For fraternities, there's been a ton of competition as of late amongst groups looking to recolonize/colonize chapters at state, mainly because fraternities here have gotten kicked off so frequently in recent years. For sororities, it's been kind of the opposite. There won't be an expansion within Panhellenic this coming school year, but there may very well be two again in IFC

There are other sororities that have gotten kicked off or folded. Like AEPhi, ADPi, SK and AXiD

Based on how well Theta has done this year and how poorly Sigma Nu has done, we clearly need more sororities more than fraternities.
