cuts
by: PledgingHow common is it for fraternities to cut members while they're pledging? What happens if you've already given them a bunch of money in dues?

It is common for fraternities to cut pledges that don't fit in well/really mess up. The number of guys cut varies every year for every fraternity but it is not something you should be worried about if you connect with the guys in the fraternity. No you do not get a refund for whatever dues you have paid when you are cut.

Fraternities aren't really that picky with who they want in their fraternity as long as your smart, outgoing and social.
It's the sororities you have to worry about because while they say they only want people who live up their sisterhood creed, involved on campus and the community, etc. they only pick you based on your looks which is skinny white girls with blonde/brunette hair and blue/brown eyes. Top tier sororities at UCF are only based on looks and nothing else.
What's the point of having a recruitment coordinator when all you do is pick the same type of girl?
