recruitment tips?

Don't try to name drop, don't brag about hooking up with fraternity boys (if you did during summer b), don't be rude at a house you don't want, don't be really awkward during conversation, don't get your heart set on a specific house on the first day.

Shift your perspective from wondering what they're thinking about you to what you're thinking about them. Take note of little details... Do they make you feel comfortable? Can you laugh with them and have fun? Do you feel like they have a strong sense of sisterhood or do you sense that they are laying it on a little too thick. You will know you are in the right house when you are able to truly be yourself. Talk about your hobbies, interests, family and home, friends. Be genuine and nice! :)

This sounds odd, but it really does show when a PNM tries too hard to make the girls like them. Be genuine. It's painfully obvious when a PNM just gushes about everything the rusher says, and it comes off as desperate. Say what you're thinking, but you don't have to agree with everything the girl you're talking to says, it makes for a boring conversation.

Also, the picture you submit with your application is way important. Make sure it really is the best version of you.

I'd say a big one is packing your purse with a lot of essentials, like a small portable fan, a water bottle, makeup for touch ups, breath mints (probably not gum unless you can remember to spit it out before you go in to a house), and maybe a pair of sandals to wear in between parties in case your heels are hurting you.

Don't talk bad about another chapter while you're in a house. It makes you look petty.
