If it's a selfie make sure it only has you in it, no filters, no enhancements, and that it's taken in great light.

The picture is pretty important. Try to look and dress your best in it.

I would not under any circumstances pick a selfie. There are enough people out there who think selfish are ridiculous and no matter how well It's taken, a picture someone else takes is better. Shoot for a pic that is cropped just above the waist so it doesn't look like you can't find anyone to take a picture of you and isn't so far away they can't see you.

just make sure its pretty. I sent in a pic from prom. do maybe one of your senior portraits. it serves kinda of like a head shot for an audition
