i'm so sick of you unhoused girls telling pnms that you have to "work harder" at seeing each other because you don't have houses, as if those that do take it for granted. HAVING A HOUSE IS AMAZING, THAT'S WHY MOST OF THE UNHOUSED SORORITIES ARE TRYING TO GET ONE!! IT'S 100% A BENEFIT!! i'm not saying that not having a house takes away from your sisterhood, but HAVING ONE definitely ADDS TO IT. i'm just sick of you guys trying to put a negative spin on something most of you are TRYING to attain yourselves. none of us NEED houses, but we have them for whatever reason and we're proud of them!!
#12by: to...everyone.
Ok, seriously, I think by now we realize the majority of PNMs are looking for houses. Which is why a lot of the time they ask about houses, and why unhoused chapters say the whole "working hard to see each other" spiel to show that they can have a strong sisterhood too. Speaking of the PNMs, its not really fair for them to have to travel by bus to another location for just one house during rush, and I'm sure Pan has better things to spend their money on than buses for a week, hence wanting to find a better alternative so all the chapters can be in one location, whether it be Greek Park or not.
#13by: not to mention
one of the other major positive aspects to recruiting out of a common space is that if there is another hurricane fay, pnms/recruit exec/rho gammas don't have to spend the whole day outside miserable-which could also increase pnm turnout and retention by making the process less of a hastle
not saying it is or should happen, just trying to add credibility to its consideration...maybe you should start worrying about things you can control like your own reputation at bars and in frat houses ;)
#15by: seriously
There is NO positive to having to rush out of a "common space". I am not sorry to say I would never associate myself with another sorority during rush, and if I had to, it definitely would not be Theta the BBQ pit girls. Do you realize if we all rushed out of say rooms in the student union, we would not be able to cheer or chant or sing. We could not be loud or even keep our rituals/traditions!!! Hurricane or not, Im staying at my sorority house and keeping it traditional! It shouldnt be any other way.
#16by: fear?
no one's afraid of anything. you can tell the difference between who's who on campus and in general even when we're not in our house so seriously, unhoused girls GET OVER YOURSELVES. we have houses that we're proud of and they should be showcased during recruitment because it's part of our sisterhood and should 100% be a factor in a pnms decision. if YOU'RE all so allegedly great, girls should want to go to your chapter regardless, so stop trying to take the very thing you WISH YOU HAD, away from those that do!
#18by: OMG
you guys really can't read...the majority of us don't even want it to happen and we come from unhoused chapters...its simply stating that everyoneon this page can't stop complaining about something that most likely is not going to happen!
and good enough to have a house? everyone knows its a ucf issue that 4 sororities and over ten fraternities don't have on campus facilities. if it were due to lack of membership, probation, or lack of funds then you might have made a good case
#19by: PLEASE READ
Everyone just needs to calm down, this is all really ridiculous. There is no point in all the rude comments and rude ratings that have been given to Theta as well as EVERY other sorority. Maybe we should all not be so disrespectful and stop putting everyones sorority down. There's a reason girls decide to rush, it's to get involved and meet friends they can know a lifetime. Its definitely NOT to feel bad about themselves so the disrespect needs to stop. No other university has given so many terrible and mean ratings to their sororities so lets just all grow up.
