if you do get in a sorority, someday you will look back on the comment that you just wrote and realize how stupid it sounds....for now, just go through recruitment and don't worry about it

As a junior it is hard to get a bid. Not impossible - just hard. You tend to see hard cuts on the first day from chapters you thought liked you - just because of your status in college. Sororities (esp "top tier") like freshman - girls who can stay in the sorority for 4 years and give back to it more than just a year or 2.

greek bbqs are all right to get free food, but don't count on meeting any sorority girls....very, very few go, and the ones who do are kind of limited in what they can talk to you about (recruitment rules), if they talk to you at all...it's kind of awkward for them to go up to you at that kind of event. you will meet lots of rho gammas though. there will probably be 3 or 4. you may as well go, but don't have high expectations.
