there is no way they're going to give that house to a sorority!! that would make it 8 sororities with houses and 2 without! the current 7 - 3 split is unfair, there's no way they're going to go that far. it would all but kill them off. groups in the past had a hard time when it was 6 - 4, it will be even harder next year....theta chi has it on lock, if only by default

we all love theta chi. maybe the other frats don't, but we all know they are a great fraternity. they come out to events, they are nice guys, and they work hard. unfortunately wayyyy too many other frats have screwed up: pike, sae, sigep, pikapp and ato, kappa sig, and sigma chi are constantly on/off probation.... now even BETA who was like the frat golden child has had more than just the recent incident on their record. as much as ucf would probably like to trust theta chi, why should they!? all these men from all these frats came from the same place, we like to think every frat is different but they're really not. it's sad all the other frats completely screwed it up for theta chi. i agree about the 8-2 split but i don't think there's much we can do. theta and chio/kappa will probably still vote with the unhoused.

All the fratERNITIES screwed it up for theta chi? How about they screwed themselves over. They've done quite a bit of tattling over the last year and THAT'S why the other fraternities don't like them. I want them to get the house because I personally know 5-6 Theta Chi's who will have to drop because they won't be able to afford dues DOUBLING

This is all dumb.
1) Theta Chi's dues are not doubling, they would be going from $500 to $700
2) There are 1-2 brothers MAX who would drop if this were to happen. Max.
3) Other fraternities have not necessarily screwed it up for them, especially considering they have made it this far and have apparently gotten great reviews.
I hope these boys get it. Even though all of these organizations really do deserve it, we, as a Greek Community, and as a university, need a fraternity on campus. As a girl in a housed sorority, I think I speak for the girls of greek park when I say we all want a fraternity on campus.

You need to get your math correct. If they got the house, their dues could never be $700 per person. At $100,000 a year in parlor fees it would mean every brother (they are hovering just around 100 people) would have to pay $1000 a year to cover the parlor fees. That equals $500 a semester which would leave them with $200 a person for EVERYTHING ELSE. Not feasible and unlikely. Their dues would need to go to around $1000 a semester for them to live in the house, pay the fees, and participate in everything they'd like to every semester. That all doesn't include the money they need to put in already for the IMMEDIATE initial $40,000 and ALL of the common area furniture before fall starts. NOT impossible, but VERY improbable.
