email president

Is it weird, desperate or respectable to email the president to introduce myself? I'm not sure but I have heard negatives and positives from it.

I wouldn't personally do that. for spring rush I could see doing that, but for fall it just seems unnecessary

Honestly it doesnt even matter if the president knows who you are or not. Plus you will have plenty of time during rush to be able to meet with many members including the president so don't seem too desperate by emailing them.

Don't! If you know a girl in a sorority kindly let her know you're going through recruitment and ask if she has any tips. (They aren't supposed to be talking to you anyway). But that way you've notified someone who can keep an eye out for you.
