[Serious] Things to know before rushing
by: PNM
I'm going into my sophomore year at UCF and I'm an engineering major. I have good time management skills and get good grades. I really want to rush because brotherhood & leadership opportunities strongly appeal to me and I think I have a lot to contribute to a frat. If I join one the frat will be my main extracurricular but I'll still want to be involved in a couple other clubs that interest me when I'm not at frat events/with the frat brothers.
I made my class schedule light for fall in case I pledge but my question is there anything else I should know before rushing? Thanks in advance.

I suggest looking up the national website of the chapters that you’re interested in to see if they have an introduction form that you could complete ahead of time so the brothers know a little bit about you before they meet you and so they know your name to lookout for you. Fraternity recruitment can be a little awkward so that could be helpful if they have an online form that you can complete ahead of time. Some larger established sororities have these online so hopefully the fraternities do as well.
Also, most fraternity brothers do not use the term “frat”- just as an fyi for when you’re talking to them they say fraternity.

Thanks for the insight - that is true that I haven’t heard any of my friends in fraternities use the term “frat”.
