round 1 cuts

by:

Does anyone know how the houses make decisions to drop people are round 1? I’m really surprised from what I’ve seen so far — all the cute girls in my group only got 1 of their top houses back and didn’t get a full schedule of 8.

Wrong. My GPA is perfect 4.0. I was on homecoming court and wear a size 2. Had great conversations. Why was I cut?

nah it was actually just you stating a bunch of minor facts about yourself and asking why those facts didn't get you an invite back. dude never said directly to you that your gpa didn't get you back, they just pointed out one reason girls are typically cut after day one.

Are you a freshman? Sophomore, Junior? How many houses were you cut by today? If it was just one and you still had the maximum amount of parties to go to then that’s really good.

Freshman cut by 7. I am in the honors college and have a scholarship beyond bright futures. So drop the gpa crap.

That wasn’t me (the gpa reason) and honestly I don’t know why you were cut by so many already. I would just say to focus on the houses that invited you back because they saw something about you that they loved, so don’t worry about the others.

You aren’t entitled to be asked back to ____ number of chapters. While this week is focused on giving pnm’s the opportunity to find where they fit, it is also a week for the chapters to find who they feel comfortable with and who will fit into their sisterhood. You know close to nothing about each of these sisterhoods other than what you see on social media and hear in passing, the only people who know the chapter and who could fit as a potential new member of it are the sisters. Great conversations and a good GPA aren’t everything that makes up being a member of an organization. You can only run home to one place so instead of complaining and coming off defensive because some chapters didn’t invite you back be grateful that 4 chapters saw something in you, and see you as a possible fit into their sisterhood.

Look the reason you got cut is because your an insufferable bore. 4.0 honors college homecoming court size 2 blah blah. Your a fake and a fraud and the lesser beings who are actually in these top houses picked it up in two seconds lol.

Don’t be rude to her, she’s confused and nervous just like you were when you went through recruitment. This makes us on the inside look bad...

Where did you join?

I was reading something online that said top chapters at every campus are required to cut more girls first round so as not to lead on more girls than they can take.Basically if they know they aren’t going to take someone they should cut them early so they can get used to the idea of going somewhere else. This keeps there from being two or three good sororities on every campus and all the others are tiny. So getting cut just means you weren’t in their top 50% which could be looks, grades, being a sophomore or junior or just not standing out compared to others.
