You basically want to be as high as possible on the list for the sorority you want. Otherwise, you’ll be forced into your 2nd or 3rd option accordingly.

If you get dropped in the process it will be from a top tier I almost assure you. Once you’re dropped, it will no longer be an option. Most girls who go through recruitment, if not ALL, will have a house at the end. PAN knows how many are going through recruitment and will divide the number amongst the houses. So if, let’s say Zeta, preferences 80 girls, they do so in a ranking manner. If PAN decides Zeta (and all other houses) can only take 50 in order to be fair to all houses, they will look at Zeta’s bottom 30 and see what their next preference would be. Basically PAN plays matchmaker and tries to give all parties what they want. That’s also why it’s discouraged to “suicide bid” on a sorority, because they may want you, but you have no idea where you are on their list and how many pledges they’ll be able to accept.
