An observation of Greek Life
Everyone’s going to hate on other organizations and defend their own because of loyalty, ego, whatever the reasoning is. It’s all just a vicious cycle.
“Top tier is too materialistic/fake/catty.”
“Middle tier wants to be top tier but isn’t because of this/that”
“So & so isn’t above so & so because of this/that”
“This org is bottom tier because of this/that and will never be middle/top tier”
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what “tier” you are. There are amazing people in each chapter. Each organization makes considerable philanthropic and professional contributions to society. It’s where people feel most like themselves. It’s a place to call home, friends to call family.
It’s something that outsiders will never understand and us, as Greeks, try to fiercely defend even though we continue to try to tear each other down in the process?
How can we continue to defend the greek community against UCF, other schools, etc. if we diminish the meaning of being a part of it in the first place?

I just don’t understand all the hate that has been going around recently. People who purposely put others down in order to feel good about themselves or superior to others is just sickening... We’re all in this community to be better versions of ourselves, uphold the ideals of our organizations, and make positive contributions to society.
