by: MomIm a Zeta Legacy and my daughter has always dreamed of being a Zeta. I'm bummed reading about public/campus opinion about this chapter. Does anyone have an opinion that is not sour grapes? I know a few bad apples can spoil a bunch. Is that all that it is?

Honestly, I gave Zeta a fair chance when I rushed at UCF and I've had friends who were Zetas that I love dearly. Unfortunately my friends who were Zetas at this chapter all dropped...and soon after Zeta was under watch for hazing (so I can only imagine why coincidentally all my friends decided to leave). Its unfortunate, because I'm SURE there's some worthwhile girls in that chapter that don't deserve the reputation. But the majority spoil it for the rest.

Unfortunately, I'll have to agree with above. The Zetas here are very popular, but in my experience it is for the wrong reasons. If you come to any of the dance competitions, they're the ones who are always half naked. They pick their girls according to looks to cater to fraternities, they are one of the only chapters on campus who are strongly rumored to haze, and the ones I know personally are either not nice girls or used to be but changed after joining. I wouldn't recommend the chapter, but I'm positive your daughter will make her own decision about where she feels at home :) Best of luck to her!

I'm really nervous to transfer here, I come from a small western chapter, and we're known on campus for being the sweet, down to earth sorority. Hearing the things I have from UCF and looking at their facebook content makes me really scared. Am I going to be ostracized because I'm pale and size 4, and not into frat guys?

Are you a transferring Zeta or can you rush and maybe find a chapter that is closer to your personality? If you're a transferring Zeta, I'd say give it a shot. I'm sure that your sisters will try their best to make you feel at home despite your differences. If you're a non-Greek transferring, then maybe you'll be able to find a chapter that is closer to your personality. Not everyone from UCF is a fist-pumping, tanning, alcoholic, guido lol. (even though I'm well aware of our reputation). My sorority has a wide variety of girls including some with a little country/southern background. Best of luck!

Greek Rank is the worst place to find out about chapters. 99% of the ratings are over-exaggerated or flat out untrue. It's sad that others feel the need to drag down another Chapter, even if they have their own PERSONAL issues with them. Zeta may be for your daughter, maybe not. I'm confident she will be able to figure this out for herself.

Ever since I found out that the money that my fraternity raised went to zta scholarships and painting their house instead of breast cancer research like they told us, I’ve stayed as far away from them as I can. Zta is disgusting and should be ashamed lying to us about something like breast cancer awareness
