do high school reputations matter?
by: JwI'm going to ucf next year and a lot of girls I went to highschool with go here. I didn't have the best rep in highschool and there's almost one girl from every house that know me. Should I even bother rushing?

Try not to worry too much about that. I mean there's a chance that when they pick who they want, a girl might try to say something against you but if the other girls who've talked to you really like you then you'll still have a shot. Maybe even message girls you had issues with and try to make amends before next fall, it's surprising how forgiving people will be when they are approached nicely. Otherwise just look into chapters where you don't know anyone, if any. :)

I would say depends on the reason for the reputation.
If you bullied any of my sisters in HS, were excessively mean, mistreated other girls, were nasty to everyone; I don't care who met you during recruitment or how much they like you, you're getting a no. People may change, but it's just as likely they're being fake for recruitment, and I'm not going to risk making my sister uncomfortable who knew you prior if you were not a nice person.
If you weren't cool or just unpopular then who cares. If you come across cool now, high school doesn't matter.
It really could be a toss up.

This except idk if I would bother with the amends part, it's not that it wouldn't work but maybe it's just better to see how they act towards you first? There were some people I hated in high school that came here after graduation and I feel pretty neutral to them, I never see them and I'm in a sorority so why would I waste energy about it? People change.
Plus it could seem you're only trying to be nice just so they don't say stuff about you in fall rush. The timing might be too coincidental to seem genuine.
