I rushed as a sophomore and got more invitations back than the freshman did so age isnt as much of a factor unless you are a Junior. It's nothing really against your age, it just really does throw off the system like was said below me. You will be older than your pc and cant get a little and will have a younger person for a big.

You just basically told everyone who you are by giving really specific information. There was a girl in my group that was a junior that got into a sorority and there was also another junior in my pledge class. You should give it a shot because you'll never know unless you try. Get recommendation letters from alum which could help you since you're older.

To be honest, I really don't care if people know who I am. I am a normal person who wants to know what she's getting herself into. I did give personal information but I'm not the only 5'8" dancer in the world...mso my identity is still hidden... But I ttly understand what u mean by giving it a shot.... I just don't want to set myself up for failure u know? I've heard so many different things... So I don't know what opinions to trust... But when I hear personal experiences like urs and ur friends it makes it easier to believe. Now how would I go about getting these recommendation letters and from who?

For all of the girls going through rush that keep hearing rumors about probation and hazing...this is the link to the u of a page that specifically says which houses are on probation or got in trouble for hazing: arizonagreek.orgsync.com/judicial
Click on the judicial history fall 2011 to see this past year and judicial incidents 2010-2011 to see the year before! As of right now, the only sorority on probation is Theta. They have "University Probation until February 2012". However, the rumor that they are kicked off is false. You can also see the past few years and see which houses got in trouble for hazing...but just remember that just because a house used to haze a while back doesn't mean they haze anymore!

To be honest you seem kind of desperate and ignorant sweetie...just go into rush open minded and see what happens. Being in a sorority isn't a right it's a privilege. Girls that think they deserve to be in top houses are usually the ones that get dropped from the houses the first day. Just be yourself and know that there is a possibility you won't get the house you want. That goes for all of the girls going through rush. You haven't received a bid yet, so acting like you're above a "lower tier house" will just make you look foolish in the end. And when you try too hard it is blatantly obvious. Recruitment is a serious reality check for a lot of girls. My best advice to all of you is to go into rush without a particular house in mind and just be yourself!! There's a house for everyone!

No no trust me I don't Expect to get into a good house or to be in a sorority even, of course I want something like that but I see howit makes me sound desperate... I was just looking for advice... I've heard from many people that the best house isn't always the Right house and I agree with that.

You are judging the sororities based on stupid rumors and reputations just the way you're accusing them of judging you for your class status and age. You think you're better than people you haven't even met yet! It's true that as a junior you will have lots less options, but you need to keep your mind open to who WANTS YOU. Not everyone is a fit for a top tier house, you don't even know if you would have gotten into one as a freshman. Just rush with an open mind because being Greek at Arizona, no matter what the house is a million times better than being a geed!
