Why are houses like TKE and TDX so bad?

-Tke ranked low bc many girls have said they found their members creepy.
-KA is ranked low bc of location and bc their parties are boring.

Sammy and tdx are ranked higher than KA and tke.
-Sammy is mid because their parties are too exclusive so they get a little boring. And they had some accusations from girls last year but I'm pretty sure they all turned out to be false
-TDX is lower mid bc they don't really have top guys but honestly every girl ik, myself included, really enjoys their parties. Personally I never miss one. Also they never run out of alcohol

Honestly pick the house that you loke the guys the most at. You're gonna get a similar experience in any frat but you wanna be somewhere you'll actually make friends. I'd put TDX and Sammy over the other 2 tho

Hey -it’s great to have an actual discussion here. I’m a junior in what is ranked as a top srat. I can tell you what my house, and other Srats say. Adding to above comments:

TKE: - ALOT of guys here are super creepy and the house just has a weird vibe. Also sketchy stuff has been reported which you can read on judicial. They are most likely ranked low cause of those things. If you ask Srats it’s true that they are constantly the last house they would pick to hang with.

KA -agreed it’s largely location. They don’t have a bad rep…. IMO they are pretty decent bunch a guys but they sorta pledge anyone.

TDX -actually this is a super fun house. And -I think they will move up this year. Agreed that the parties they throw are super fun.

Sammy - not as fun as TDX. It’s sorta the house that’s good with where they are at.

I love Greek life at U of A and I’m not one to post here. But -Honestly when you see a house like TKE that’s ranked LAST here (frat ranks) and they are constantly called a sketchy house there is a reason. And that reason is why they are such a bad house.

Here’s a new angle. I pledged a lower mid frat last year. Honestly, I wish I’d waited. There’s just a huge variety of the type of guy we have and very little real brotherhood because of it. Pledging was a huge time commitment that negatively impacted my grades. I’m still in, but honestly it doesn’t mean that much to me. I show up to meetings but have more fun hanging with my long term friends from HS. If you only get a bid from a lower house -you might wanna wait. Just sayin.

At U of A -Don’t know bout other schools

Lower houses tend to stay lower cause they take anyone. Literally I think TKE will offer a bid to any person desperate to take one.

Lower houses -lower GPA .
Lower houses -on and off probation cause brotherhood and values suck
Lower houses -parties are limited cause ..well they are on and off probation and their gpa..duuuhh.
Lower houses -don’t own a house
Lower houses -kids drop cause it’s not worth the money
Lower houses -Weird vibes mean girls don’t wanna hang.

For anyone going thru frat rush/pledging this fall. Here is a no BS response. Yes, you should hang with the house that you connect with. Obviously. But some frats at U of A have terrible reps -so think about if you want to represent those letters.

TKE - in general Greek life at U if A has zero respect for these kids. People genuinely get second hand embarrassed for the members and
The house will for sure take a hit this year. Plus they are soon off row.

KA - they just have a terrible location so they are sorta stuck lower.

Sammy -prob the best of the lower tier bunch. Pretty chill guys and they throw some good parties.

TDX -I think this house can move up right now I put them below Sammy. The ladies like em and they have good parties.

It’s because they’re newer houses compared to houses like sig chi who have had their house for literally decades. like tke and tdx just got there house 4-5 years ago so i think it just takes time to build up a good rep and good guys

It’s not complicated. Lower ranked fraternities

Pledge for numbers -not quality
Usually their leadership is weak
Brothers drop
And they get a deserved reputation ie: don’t throw, weird kids, no srat wants to hang with them
