Do you need to be in greek life to have a good time?

I transferred from an SEC school (for family) and here’s my take after a year at U of A.
Nope -not even close. Greek life here has nothing on the size, popularity and tradition of a strong southern school. It just doesn’t. That being said -the Top few houses here know how to throw and seem to keep the whole “Greek Life” thing kicking here.
There is a huge ..and I mean BIG drop between the top houses and other houses on campus at U of A. At SEC schools there are more “top houses” cause Greek Life in general is just a bigger deal.
Top houses seem to stay top here.
Lower houses seem to stay low -and I’m not sure they are worth it.

Is it like other schools (Alabama for example) where Greek Life is the best way to have a good time in college?
