interested in rushing a fraternity. need advice.

What should I do starting now to increase my chances of making a connection during spring rush and get a bid?

I've been hitting the rec, memorizing EDM artists etc.

On a serious note, should I start networking?

I am interested and your advice is appreciated.

I went into spring rush last year with little to no connections, but still ended up in a top house. Not saying connections aren’t Important, it’s just if your a good kid you’ll stand out and become know fast

What do we need to do? Like go to the Rec, be a good kid in class? Just be chill?

There’s nothing you “have to do” technically besides be yourself. That’s how you find the right house for you. If you feel personally inclined to go to the gym or listen to edm then do it because you want to, not because you think houses want you to. The definition of “chill” varies house-by-house. Just be yourself and do the stuff you want to do to get the best results from rush, there’s a house for nearly everyone.
