chances of getting a bid if i'm overweight?

So I will be a freshmen at the UofA in the fall and I've always wanted to be in a sorority... But I am concerned that no soroity will want me because I am a plus sized girl. I was just wondering if I should rush or if I have no chance of getting a bid. I have a perfect GPA and was very involved in clubs and sports throughout high school. I am also confident in myself and present myself very well, I just worry that I will be judged based on my size. Any advice or comments are greatly appreciated :)

I'm being honest, and the truth does suck....but you probably wouldn't get into a popular sorority like aphi or gphi or even piphi who are known for being thinner girls. I'm sure you've got great confidence and are really pretty, but the sororities here are very judgmental. But hey, I could be wrong and you could get into any! Be yourself and you'll find the house you belong in.

You have a chance of getting a bid, just not at the more selective houses where appearance matters a lot. Keep an open mind and don't listen to negative gossip and stereotypes.

You should look into more open minded (aka not "top") houses. To be honest, the recruitment system at U of A is very much based on appearances.
