why are some older frats off the row

Like I get it for the newer ones, but why would houses like Beta and KA, who have been around forever still be off the row? Same goes for island frats like Pike and Aepi who have been here for a long time too?

bc long long ago there was no greek row. frats and sororitys used to be north, south and west of campus and a few of those houses are still there “off the row”

Why would houses on the island want to move onto the row when they are already thriving. Imo the island so far this year has been better party wise than the row has besides sig chi

Sigma Lambda Beta is top house and they aren't on the row so location honestly doesn't matter too much.
