bigs/littles in sororities?

At what point do new members get their bigs in sororities and how does the process work? What if your big doesn't like you or something??

I got my big like 1 1/2 months after getting into my sorority. In my sorority we put down who we would want, and if they match up then you get each other but if not then you might get a random. I have a random Big but she turned into my best friend!! so don't let that bother you.
