getting a bid?

What are the chances of getting a bid at a top house? Theta Chi, Sammy and Pike are the only houses I really want. Should I pref a bottom/ mid house like ZBT or KA for insurance? Also how many bids do the top houses give?

Only pref a house you feel at home in. It won't matter if it's a top house if you hate all the guys there. The chances aren't high, but if you fit in you'll get a bid
