scholarship

by: Fall PNM

I'm interested in rushing a fraternity in the fall but the dues are pretty high for me for most houses. I've heard from some friends that their fraternities offer scholarships to help with dues. How often are these scholarships actually awarded to the people that apply for them?

It's almost always once a year but it all depends on the house and scholarship, but they are there. SigEp also has a scholarship that non-members can technically win, which is kind of weird. If not, you can ask your frat's treasurer about getting onto a payment plan. A lot of guys are on plans or work part-time.

Another thing you can do is run for exec board after you're initiated and try to get "free" dues. Seriously, it's crazy how much embezzling there is at the exec level, and it happens in just about every frat across the country.

Okay, thanks a lot for the info. I could just do the payment plan/job if needed

IFC has a scholarship type thing every semester that pays your dues based on financial need, no idea how the selection process works though

Alright, that's good to know and I'll look into it. Thank you!
