Yah, a 2.9 is pretty bad for college. The all-women's average is 3.15 and the all-sorority average GPA is 3.26. As someone with a 2.9 and a sophomore you are a pretty big risk.
Unless you are killing it, like doing really really great in appearance, personality, extracurricular, connections, legacy, etc. it will be a serious uphill battle for you during recruitment... and even then your best chances might be a sorority like Theta or ADPi, mayyyybe Sigma. Probably not the top houses though. Good luck.

I can see why your gpa sucks, you do not seem very bright. Someone literally posted the average sorority gpa and the average gpa for all female students... now are those numbers higher than 3.0? What does that tell you about your chances?

savage!! 😂💀 seriously though a 3.0 is better but not by much and it won't won't really help you get into a top sorority.
the real problem is that grades are just one of many factors during recruitment. no one knows if a slightly higher GPA will help you without knowing the bigger picture of who you are as a PNM and what you bring to the table besides mediocre at best grades. think about all the other considerations and strengthen them to offset your GPA.
