sorority recruitment

by: Pnm

Will being from out of state/out of region help, hurt, or not affect me during recruitment? I'm from a mid-sized suburb about 45 minutes outside of New York. I wasn't super worried about it before but I have friends at Bama who say that even top tier girls from far away don't get bids at good sororities unless they have really good connections. Is it like that here? I have no connections in any of the houses at U of A, but I think I'm pretty solid in looks, grades, and involvement.

Greek life on the west coast is definitely way different than the east coast. We don’t really focus too much on who you know or legacies like those on the east.

What do you focus on? Is it different for each house?

Yeah lol, you're prob right. I wasn't nervous before, but I have a lot of friends going to SEC schools freaking out about recruitment rn. I'll probably do fine here, doesn't seem as crazy as the south. I know that was an insult, but it was actually kinda enlightening, so thanks I guess

West coast greek life has a whole different swagger. You cant talk to boys during rush week or youll get dropped on sight supposedly. Other than that just rush, be yourself & talk to as many members in each house as possible
