Very sad. They have a long history here and they were finally starting to improve the quality of their members. I hope to see them come back in 4 years better than ever.

It is sad but I question if they will recolonize because they already closed once before (I think it was in the 80's or early 90's). If they've had to fold twice, then I don't think that bodes well for returning unless their nationals can figure out why the chapter keeps struggling.

Tri Delt has struggled for decades - they already closed once and this was long before social media so clearly there are other reasons why they've never been able to make quota. That's why their nationals needs to figure out what to do to help them succeed if and when they re-colonize.
I was thrilled that they took a strong PC and, like many, had hoped this would help them start turning things around. Not everyone here bashes houses despite what it might seem on GR.

Tri Delt can easily come back and be successful in 4 years. AXO closed twice due to low numbers and being a weak chapter and they came back in 2013 and have taken above quota every year since they've been back. Tri delt just needs a strong colonization when they come back and they'll be fine.
And agreed with the above poster, they NEED A BETTER HOUSE.

New house - agree so much. Their national needs to do a massive remodeling, that house has no curb appeal. Sounds so superficial, but things like this play a role in recruitment.
Also, four years is too soon to return. That's what they did the last time and that's not long enough for a "struggling" reputation to go away. Chapters that successfully recolonize usually wait 7, 8 or 10 years. Otherwise people remember the chapter and not in a positive way. There are some exceptions, of course.
If I were their national, I'd wait it out 10 years and tear down that house, build something beautiful that fits the UA landscape/style. Then bring in your best actives you can pull from chapters in surrounding states, send in a national consultant to live in the house for a year or two, and work hard to recruit an amazing class - quality over quantity, get really selective at who you bid. That's how I've seen re-colonizing and new chapters do it and it gives them the best shot at a strong chapter.

The housing situation is so tight here it could go either way for a 4 year 3D recolonization. It is smart to want to come back. They'd been back since Fall 1988 so that's nearly 30 years on their second attempt.
Six NPC's have been on campus two or three times, and 19 of the 26 NPC groups have been here at some point. Five of the seven who have never been here have smaller overall total membership numbers, thus likely lower available alum help numbers for a colony.
It is very important to remember how recently difficult it was to get ANY NPC GROUP to want to colonize here! ASA was the ONLY NPC to present and to say yes when we finally invited them to do so.

I don't think 4 years is too short as long as they build a new house. If they decide not to, then they definitely need to wait longer than 4 years.

Word on the street is that they are getting a completely new house when they come back in four years.

You obviously don't have connections lol. Alumni and others actually know whats going on, and its very likely they'll be getting a new house, or at the least doing a huge update of the facility.
