Some actives will be sympathetic. After all, many were in those same shoes the year before.

Even though some may be sympathetic, please don't be a crier.

I was unhappy where I ended up but I had the decency to wait until I was back in my dorm to cry. You're an adult now. Act like one. It's called being mature.

You're not a baby. You can control when and where you cry.

Unfortunately this can happen to girls on their bid day. If you really can't hold in your tears try to find somewhere private to cry. There's girls who are happy about receiving that bid you are not so happy about and it would be unfortunate to ruin their day with tears.

It's sad when it happens, but that's part of life. They need to learn that not everything goes their way and that there will be disappointments in life. However, the girls that got rejected do have an opportunity in that a new sorority (Alpha Sigma Alpha) will be stating on campus and they can apply/interview to become a founder. It will not be a top house and will not have a house yet, but it's something to consider building an organization from the ground up, which will look good on their resume.
