rushed documentary realistic?
by: FreshmanIf you have seen the "Rushed" documentary on youtube about Sorority rush, is the documentary realistic of what goes on during rush? In the documentary, an anonymous rush chair very blatantly states how superficial the process is and how important attractiveness is over likability and fit. How much truth is there to this sentiment/this documentary? I'm considering rushing, but the rush process seems so toxic.

only for certain houses. you will be able to gauge which houses are superficial like that. join a house that you feel is genuine, where you feel like you are making genuine connections with the women there. i've become friends with multiple girls through recruitment. that documentary is misleading - it has truth to it because there are people that rush/do greek life for superficial reasons but, like i said, only in certain chapters.

the documentary is pretty biased. this is northwestern, not some southern state school, and our greek life is more based on personality/fit than looks/status. i'm in a "top tier sorority" (put it in quotes because it doesn't mean anything) and my pledge class is pretty diverse in terms of looks/style.

Don't look at the so-called "rankings" because most of them are superficial crap. Look for a group of girls that YOU like and that like YOU. So you really, really like a "low-tier" group? GO FOR IT! Then make it your mission to make that house the absolute best it can be.. I am SO sick of these superficial rankings. There are chill girls in every house. Go find them -- and good luck!
