why are aepi and zbt dues so damn high

So today the emailed all the freshman the dues information for each house. I’m not planning on rushing either, but just out of curiosity why are aepi and zbt’s dues $500+ more than every other house? The only reason I can think of is that they generally attract people from wealthier families and therefore can charge more. Anyone know why they charge so much?

Their meal plans are included in their dues. Other fraternities keep the dues and meal plans separate.

All "dues" aren't equal because they include different things. That's why it's dumb for IFC to send out a list that implies that you get the same stuff for all of them. Their dues are higher, but you don't pay another $1000 once you sign up for meals.
