splitting time during rush week?
by: froshThis might be sort of a stupid question but how should I plan on dividing my time at different frats during rush week? I already have two that I’m interested in/have built good relationships with and I’m almost certainly going to drop at one of them assuming I get bids. I’m not sure I have a preference either way yet and I’m gonna decide based on how rush week goes. How do I split my time at their events that week, like how long should I spend at each until I’ve made my decision? Is it seen as insulting to one if they want to give me a bid and I’m spending some time at the other? And how would stopping by any other houses just for the heck of it work too?

Frats aren’t allowed to give bids out until the first night after the break (so like second half of the night). So you can use the first dinner as a chance to see both places and decide which you want to focus on first. For your best chances with a house stay their the whole Monday night and Tuesday dinner, if they haven’t talked to you at that point and you’ve shown that interest there’s nothing wrong with asking a brother you’re close with if realistically you’ll get a bid there. I’ve had friends go to two houses back and forth and didn’t get bids at either, so make sure you commit to one to maximize your chances early.
