I am really happy they are punishing fraternities and trying to make a statement, but what is going to happen to the social life here? i know people can just have small get togethers with their close friends, but what about us people who don't know anyone ?

People will start going to the deuce/mach again if you're a freshman. You could also join a club, since lots of clubs have houses where they throw parties at all the time (ski, any sport, etc)
