Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at Pennsylvania State University, Altoona - PSUA 2.7 When I was in this sorority, they singled girls out--made them feel unwelcome...Held "sister circles" where they would air out the issues and tensions and 1 rule was you could not bring up the same person twice in the circle but to my surprise they brought me and my friend up 3x in a row and didn't have an issue with it. It was because we were "hanging out with the boys too much" [I'm a total tomboy, I don't get along with girls I only pledged because my guy-friends said I would like it---they were wrong.] I got up and walked away. A lot of other sisters dropped because of this as well. If you don't go to the mandatory greek ball for $30 because you're down to your last $80 for the semester, you get fined $50. Because that makes sense. When it came time for our alumni ceremony, I still told them to off over the fine. They told me I couldn't come because I had outstanding fines, when 3 other girls also had outstanding fines --but they were allowed to go. So my other friend that got kicked out [they purposely didn't invite me and our other friend to the vote because they knew we'd say no] I spent the night with her and my mom wired me money to pay the fine and I exchanged it for pennies and spent the night cracking opening pennies into a jar... $50 of pennies. The next day I gave the financial chair $50 worth of pennies in like 6 gallon bags. Alumni network is non-existent, girls are catty, don't exist in State, COLOSSAL waste of money. Only legacy I hold with them is I started the AST House from the Pepsi House in PennView. Otherwise, this sorority -as it was- can suck it.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at Pennsylvania State University, Altoona - PSUA 3.9 The girls are all very diverse, and you can tell there is not a certain "type they accept". The women all seem to be in multiple organizations on campus, and in leadership roles. They can seem both shy and outgoing, just like any other student on campus.

Alpha Sigma Tau - ΑΣΤ Sorority at Pennsylvania State University, Altoona - PSUA 5.0 I saw them at a sig pi party the other weekend and they are so friendly, everyone always talks to them, they get invited to all the frat parties at state apparently. They are some of the nicest girls I've met in a sorority and hopefully I can party with them again because they were so respectful and they love to have fun.
