Bottom tier. Even compared to other bottom tier houses they're bottom tier. They barely have a house and it's super tiny. Some bottom tiers are fine, the ones that have a bunch of stoners and hipsters can be fun, but these guys try to be like bigger frats with barely 20 people last I checked. I think rank snobs are pathetic people, nobody cares what frat you're in irl, but do you really want to be in a pc of 2-5 people?

Your attitude sucks. You will never be able to start a project, or be an entrepreneur . Things have to start somewhere. Some people may actually have alot to contribute, for the overall good of an organization. Maybe a person would actually enjoy helping to be the reason a group can get a foot in the door. No, it may not be immediate, not in a year or even 5-10 years, but you have to start somehow. To try yet fail, is better than never trying at all. You (poster) need to stick with the mainstream, as you will never be original. Hats off to DKE!

So is pledging DKE not worth it? Is it better than not being in Greeklife at all?

If you want the experience of greek life and cant afford a better fraternity, it might be worth it. Spirit groups like wranglers and iron spikes are more well known on campus though

You will get brotherhood and possibly some good parties, the spirit groups are pretty weak party wise. But if you're looking for sorority relations or a more secure organization so to speak you might wanna go with the spirit group. Just be aware of how much of a fraternity DKE actually is because there are bottom tier frats that have a decent Greek experience and others that are glorified trap houses.

On what you're looking for. Once you start looking at newer/smaller chapters on campus, you have to pick and choose which greek life experiences you are willing to go without. Maybe a spirit group would be more suitable, or maybe not. But remember spirit groups don't usually have a house.

A smaller fraternity like dke will have mixers, events, and brotherhood...but will there be huge build parties? no. There are a lot of positives to joining one though.

I think someone else said it but there are so many smaller fraternities popping up. OP should give the ones he likes or has been contacted by a shot and just see if he meshes well with the guys.

are spirit groups really that weak party wise? I was talking to one of the guys and they said that they have mixers every week

mixers =/= parties. Spirit groups have a TON of mixers with other spirit groups and some sororities, but since most spirit groups don't have a house (Tejas is the only one I can think of that does?) they won't have that big house party experience that most frats have.

It's hard to get action at mixers because of all the sorority/spirit group rules
