grades

I am a pre-med student that is really focused on going to med school but have always wanted to join a fraternity to make lasting friends/memories in college, etc. If I pledge a certain fraternity, would my grades be affected because of pledging. I can't afford to have a bad semester, because my my main concern to gain entry med school.

Do not be deterred. You'll just have less time for sleep if you wanna keep up the same social life as your friends.
If you trust your work ethic you'll be fine

would recommend joining a spirit group. It's more low-key and their pledgeships aren't as hard. Good ones are like Tejas, Iron Spikes, Wranglers etc. Having been through pledgeship myself, it definitely takes a toll on your grades no matter what people say

I pledged as a pre Med. if you are smart you should be fine. Freshmen science classes should be easy for you if you want to get in to med school.
