time commitment

Auto admit to UT. Hoping for college of engineering. I think I would like to rush but I am concerned about adjusting as a freshman (have two older sibs in college and I keep hearing about adjusting), keeping up with my studies, and fulfilling required time in a fraternity. My elder sister rushed at her college and her sorority had her crazy busy the first semester.
Realistically, how much time a week is dedicated to fraternity hours the first semester.

Anywhere from an hour or two a week to 25+ depending where you pledge

3 hours /week. all the guys who pledge end up leaders....you can do it and keep up the grades.
