lxa vs phi kappa sigma
by: Spring RusheeIn the spring I'm considering between rushing/pledging Phi Kap (Skulls), which are definitely newer but have a really solid group of guys, or LXA, which has some solid guys and are more established, but don't really have a house right now. What do you think the pro's and con's would be for each house? What do you know about the two fraternities? I went to rush events for both in the fall and was offered a bid to each but could not pledge then.

Phi Kapp has nice guys but little to no sorority relations or campus recognition. Join them if you want a chance to help lead a fraternity to maybe grow to prevalency one day, but really the same can be said of a lot of other bottom tier fraternities that get double digit PC's like Delta Sig, Theta Chi, and Zeta Psi.
Lambda Chi already has some sorority relations and status on campus. They're more like a normal fraternity and will give you a more complete Greek experience. However, without a house or a normal pledgeship it doesn't seem like they have much potential to go forward.
The most important thing though is to pick the fraternity you get along with better. After you graduate you won't care about what tier your fraternity was or what people thought of it. You'll care about the people you hung out with and the experiences you had with them. Neither of these fraternities are big enough to have you dropping panties on the reg just by wearing the letters or living in a mansion where there's always a party going on, so just pick the one you like better.
