dropping and rerushing
by: DropperHow hard is it to get into a sorority, not necessarily top tier, if you dropped recruitment as a freshman and rush again as a sophomore? Is it easier if you dropped earlier in recruitment?

So, I dropped out mid rush because the houses I wanted cut me. Not sure the reason but likely no connections. I went to nice private high school but it was not a UT greek 'feeder'. Had a 3.9, great extra curriculars, good recs, etc...and now I hear about 'lesser' girls getting snap bids to those houses because they were friends with the actives...so I get it that connections rule everything. I also went to a great summer camp over by Mystic/Waldemar but it was as a middel school kid and not as well known as those 2 camps. During rush, I was friendly for sure but I can't just dial up the bubbly on demand....I'm excitable with girls I know and my own circle back home but just can't fake a personality in order to stand up up front. Do I stand a chance for Big 6 or DG/AXO if I re rush as a sophomore? I'm going to some west campus parties here and there and know a few actives but I'm not tight with them, since I didn't go to high school with any UT greeks. I'm not going to cling to them or exploit them to force it, either...that's just too fake and demeaning. I did have the total package minus the connections but wonder how often those houses take sophomores. It's tough because I hear the internet chatter about some UT houses not getting good girls and here I've been trying to get in to those houses and am now looking in from the outside.
