PNMs get cut because chapters with high rates of return have to make big cuts early. You can get cut because you didn't have a high enough GPA or the right recs or because you live in the "wrong" zipcode or because you and the people you talked to didn't click, or because they decided to cut every other girl on the list.

It doesn't matter. Try not to take it personally and move on. If you have some houses left, you need to act like those are the ONLY houses at UT. They are the only ones for you.

-They knew they were going to cut you/didn't like you
-They didn't know you well enough, so even if you really clicked, the person you talked to may not have had as much pull within the chapter
- No recs or recs in too late .. depends on the chapter
-You said something offensive or acted rude
-Computer error...this happens a lot.
-You were an upperclassman they didn't know really well, even if they liked you
- GPA...lol DG
-When the alumni are snobs

-If you're cut from a middle/lower tier chapter early on, you probably didn't click with the girl AT ALL

Talking to you is a formality. People already have some idea of who they want. The earlier you got started with preparation work, the more you get on the radar.

If you're pretty, a great dresser (not basic), sociable, had all your recs in, interesting, sporty, etc. and you still got cut? That just tells you there's a problem with the chapter. This happens way too much. It always makes me so angry when a perfect girl is cut because an alum or something "doesn't know her" UGH

but so many times it is largely due to the PNM's failure to prepare. Either the PNM was clueless or she thought she was so hot she didn't need to. WRONG.

Back to the awkward question, how do some girls feel they have the right to judge that? There are girls in sororities across the board here who themselves do awkward things. Based on what I've seen at different parties over the summer and before, what appears to be an attempt at acting better-than-you and standoffish toward some girls really just comes across as antisocial and weird. Some of these girls are the same people who stand around looking down at their phones when someone talks to them. Call me old fashioned, but wtf? There are some things you can't excuse as "cute and fun." I think a little more humility about PNMs' social graces would be beneficial hahaha
