Is it true that this year's sorority pledge classes will be bigger?

UT needs to bring some in more sororities so pnm's without connections have a chance at going Greek. Also PC's are way too big already, so having a true sisterhood is impossible.

I'm sorry but how will bringing SDT in this year help? It didn't help last year. They ruined the experience for so many great pnms.

If a PNM cannot accept a bid from SDT because she is "too good" for them, then she doesn't belong in the Greek system at all.

You do realize that our PCs are way smaller than most if not all of the SEC schools and Oklahoma right? We have one of the lowest placement rates as well. We're pretty small as it is already.

Pledge classes are totally dependent on the number of PNM's left at preference. Then that total number is roughly divided by the number of sororities. This is a simplification but the general idea. More PNM's means more open spots, but not necessarily in the sorority you want. With SDT participating yet again, it makes the size of the pledge classes smaller. All the real sororities have to make bigger cuts every round and quality PNM's get stuck having to go back to SDT instead of a sorority they really want. So all the other sororities get stuck with a smaller number of pledges and SDT gives bids to a bunch of PNM's who don't want them and never show up for bid day.

what UT needs is more big name sororities. this will encourage more people go through recruitment and get placed. SDT ruined rush for a lot of girls and chapters. this year won't be any different. they are a nice group of girls but they are small, no one wants to associate with, and the name is not too known across the states.
