rushing for sophomore year

At UT, is it frowned upon to rush during freshman year? I have met a lot of kids who do this, but what do top and mid tier houses think about this?

Some fraternity chapters spring rush, top tiers don't and sororities definitely don't. It's perfectly okay to meet and get to know as many people as you can during the school year before attempting as a sophomore.
