rush list

I am going to be a sophomore next school year and will be interesting in rushing middle/lower tier fraternities. When should I start contacting the rush chairs to inform them that I will be interested in rushing? Is it also true that many fraternities determine their pledge class in the summer so if I can't make it out to summer rush I'm screwed? Thanks and Hook Em!

go to their websites and reach out to the rush chairs many of them start looking around now
