I do think I am being close minded. From all accounts girls from small towns do not even get a look from PKT for sure and very few from big six at all. I think my mom hopes that I like Pi Phi and they like me, but she has been pretty honest about my chances.... Even with Waldemar. My question started because I am trying to decide btwn SRD and Hardin. I am really just concerned about whether to rush and if I will end up unhappy in Hardin if I don't get a bid.

I'm from a small town and I got in to Kappa Alpha Theta. There were four more small town pledges too. Of course, it didn't hurt that my older sister was already a Theta, LOL. But hey, SHE got in before me and was in the same boat. She lived at SRD and really loved it. I do think she felt like more of her sisters lived at Hardin though. If it weren't for her, I would not have known about Hardin and I was lucky to find out that most of them DID live there. However, she has never regretted living at SRD as it was one of the happiest times of her life. Plus, so what if you get exposed to others, because if you decide to live in the house later, you're going to bond anyway--in fact, your own sorority is the ONLY group you're around, and I actually needed to get away sometimes, if you understand, ha. You can't go wrong with either dorm.

I am also from a small town. My mom was in a sorority-I don't want to give anything away by saying which one-and I certainly would be open to joining that one. However...is a top six sorority completely out of the question? I have no leagacy connections, but I do have recs for most of them. I have good grades, was active in high school, and in my community and church. I was just curious. I don't have my hopes set for any one sorority, just wondering if PKT and the other top six wouild be impossible to get into. Oh, non Mystic or Waldemar either! Camp TBar M for me!

PKT is probably out of the question. Chi-o, Tri-Delt, and Zeta are you best hopes to getting into a big six. And these are definitely not out of the question! I will say out of thoes 3, chi-o would be the hardest to get into. A-chi-O and DG are also good, solid sororities too. Good luck!
