Basically every sorority at Texas is hard to get into except the houses that people consider are the "lower" houses like Kappa Delta, Alpha Xi Delta. About 150-200 girls don't end up receiving bids. Most of the girls that do get bids are girls from wealthy high schools like Memorial, Stratford, Highland Park, Westlake, Lamar, Alamo Heights, etc. and are from big cities like Dallas, San Antonio, Houston. However, if you know girls who are currently in sororities at UT and they know you and like you then it helps A LOT especially if they are juniors or seniors, so they can really pull for you. Alpha Phi isn't as intense as some of the other sororities and they are a sorority that actually looks at legacies (some sororites at Texas don't really care if you're a legacy because there are SO many legacies, even double and triple legacies, that are coming in to UT). But I think with Alpha Phi, you will be fine. Good luck!

Most accurate rankings of popularity:
1. Kappa, Theta, Pi Phi (tied)
2. Chi O, Tri Delt, Theta (tied)
3. Delta Gamma
4. AXO
5. APhi
6. ADPi
7. AEPhi,AXD, KD (tied - although some of the AEPhis are hot, their religious restrictions really reduce their popularity in a state like Texas)
8.SDT - no house, no formal recruitment, practically no members, if they ever left campus nobody would ever notice.

My grandmother was a DZ at UT but they closed their chapter a really long time ago. By the time my mom went there, they were already gone. Honestly DZ is not big in this state at all. Mostly at the smaller schools. They're not at Tech, TCU, SMU or Baylor. The only big school they're at is A&M and they're not very good there.
